105. AL-FIIL

King Abrahah was jealous when Mecca still remains the centre of attraction for the people around the region. So he planned to attack Mecca to distroy Mecca's main attraction, the Kaabah. They came with his army and elephants.

However, instead of attacking Mecca to distroy the Kaabah, his army was attacked by successive waves of birds dropping stones on them. His army lost everything as the stones were not ordinary and had caused death and mass distruction.

It was Allah who sent the birds dropping these special stones.

Mecca and the Kaabah was thus saved. The leader for Mecca had earlier had given up hope of saving Mecca and tha Kaabah as Abrahah's army was too strong for them. Their only hope is Allah's help which they seek and was given.

[1] Tidakkah engkau mengetahui bagaimana Tuhanmu telah melakukan kepada angkatan tentera (yang dipimpin oleh pembawa) Gajah, (yang hendak meruntuhkan Kaabah)?

[2] Bukankah Tuhanmu telah menjadikan rancangan jahat mereka dalam keadaan yang rugi dan memusnahkan mereka?

[3] Dan Ia telah menghantarkan kepada mereka (rombongan) burung berpasuk-pasukan, -

[4] Yang melontar mereka dengan batu-batu dari sejenis tanah yang dibakar keras, -

[5] Lalu Ia menjadikan mereka hancur berkecai seperti daun-daun kayu yang dimakan ulat.

106. SURAH QURAISH

106. QURAISH

Mecca, the homeland of the Quraish people is a peaceful nation.

Traders pass this land of peace when they travel south to Yaman during the cold months and when they move north to Syam during the hotter months, to trade.

Therefore pray to only Allah who owns the Kaabah.

Allah who gives them a good life and who saves them from hunger and enables them to live in peace without feeling of fear.

[1] Kerana kebiasaan aman tenteram kaum Quraisy (penduduk Makkah)

[2] (laitu) kebiasaan aman tenteram perjalanan mereka (menjalankan perniagaan) pada musim sejuk (ke negeri Yaman), dan pada musim panas (ke negeri Syam),

[3] Maka hendaklah mereka menyembah Tuhan yang menguasai rumah (Kaabah) ini,

[4] Tuhan yang memberi mereka penghidupan: menyelamatkan mereka dari kelaparan, dan mengamankan mereka dari ketakutan.

Do you know the traitor to the religion and those who do not believe on the day of judgenent?

They are those who forced and bullied the ophans.

They hate to provide food and assistance required and needed by the poor and needy.

Those who failed to concentrate in their prayers are doomed. So will those who think highly of only themselves and belittle others.

Also will be doomed are those who failed to give help required by the masses.

Thus be careful not to:

1. think of only yourself and belittle others.

2. fail to help other especially the needy and ophans.

3. fail to give full concentration during the prayers.

[1] Tahukah engkau akan orang yang mendustakan ugama (meliputi hari pembalasan)?

[2] Orang itu ialah yang menindas serta berlaku zalim kepada anak yatim,

[3] Dan ia tidak menggalakkan untuk memberi makanan yang berhak diterima oleh orang miskin.

[4] (Kalau orang yang demikian dikira dari bilangan orang-orang yang mendustakan ugama), maka kecelakaan besar bagi orang-orang Ahli Sembahyang -

[5] (laitu) mereka yang berkeadaan lalai daripada menyempurnakan sembahyangnya;

[6] (Juga bagi) orang-orang yang berkeadaan riak (bangga diri dalam ibadat dan bawaannya),

[7] Dan orang-orang yang tidak memberi sedikit pertolongan (kepada orang yang berhak mendapatnya).

God had given Muhammad (Peace be upon him) a lot of goodness and favours in this world and thereafter.

Therefore, pray to God because of Him only and sacrifice as a means to show your greatfulness to God.

Those who go against you Muhammad, should not hope to gain anything as there will be none for them.

[1] Sesungguhnya Kami telah mengurniakan kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) kebaikan yang banyak (di dunia dan di akhirat).
[2] Oleh itu, kerjakanlah sembahyang kerana Tuhanmu semata-mata, dan sembelihlah korban (sebagai bersyukur).
[3] Sesungguhnya orang yang bencikan engkau, Dia lah yang terputus (dari mendapat sebarang perkara yang diingininya).

109. SURAH AL-KAFIRUN

109. AL-KAFIRUN

The non-believers do no believe in Islam. We, the Muslims believe in Islam and do not believe their religion.

Then say to them that the Muslims do not prey to what the non-believers pray. And they (non-believers) do not pray as we the Muslims pray.

Also say that the Muslims will not believe what the non-believers believe. And the non-believers do not believe as what the Muslims believe.

Your (non-believers) religion is yours and our religion (Islam) is ours. They are not the same. You do your way, we do ours.

However, we can and should live together in harmony.

[1] Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): “Hai orang-orang kafir!
[2] “Aku tidak akan menyembah apa yang kamu sembah.
[3] “Dan kamu tidak mahu menyembah (Allah) yang aku sembah.
[4] “Dan aku tidak akan beribadat secara kamu beribadat.
[5] “Dan kamu pula tidak mahu beribadat secara aku beribadat.
[6] “Bagi kamu ugama kamu, dan bagiku ugamaku”.

110. An-Nasr

The administration of the city of Mecca was taken over to Muhammad and the muslims 10 years after Muhammad migrated to Madina.

Mecca was taken over by the muslims without any bloodshed.

Upon been taken over the citizens of Mecca converted themselves to become Muslims. Some migrated from Mecca but came back to be Muslims.

The victory of taking over Mecca was with God's help. So is the conversion to become Muslims.

So celebrate your success and prey to God seeking His forgiveness.

[1] Apabila datang pertolongan Allah dan kemenangan (semasa engkau wahai Muhammad berjaya menguasai negeri Makkah), -
[2] Dan engkau melihat manusia masuk dalam ugama Allah beramai-ramai, -
[3] Maka ucapkanlah tasbih dengan memuji Tuhanmu dan mintalah ampun kepadaNya, sesungguhnya Dia amat menerima taubat.

111 SURAH AL-MASAD

Muhammad SAW had an uncle by the name of Abu Lahab who went against the teachings of Muhammad SAW.

He will soon be destroyed.

All his wealth and profits will be of no help to him.

He will be burnt by the hell fire.

And his wife will carry firewood that burns him.

Binasalah kedua-dua tangan Abu lahab, dan binasalah ia bersama!
[2]
Hartanya dan segala yang diusahakannya, tidak dapat menolongnya.
[3]
Ia akan menderita bakaran api neraka yang marak menjulang.
[4]
Dan juga isterinya, seorang perempuan pemunggah kayu api. -
[5]
Di lehernya sejenis tali, dari tali-tali yang dipintal.
